The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, introduced on July 1st 2006, is now a legal requirement. The RoHS directive restricts the use of certain substances in electrical and electronic products, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). Norbain have been working with its suppliers to ensure that their products sold by Norbain and manufactured after July 1st 2006 are compliant.
